So you can drive that sucker now?? That is pretty awesome!
The short answer is yes to drving it, no for operating it.
Technically I could drvie it once I got approved to drive station vehicles. Its the working it that's the issue, and technically this isn't actually the one that I can work.
While this is a truck that gives us live field capabilities we call it the satellite truck (SNG) because it feeds via satellite dish to a "bird" in space using radio waves. Thes station then tunes in that satellite to recive signal. The "live trucks," those vans with the masts (ENG) in that first set of pictures that I posted, are what I actually took the test for. They run by line of site microwave and are actually more dangerous to run because the mast is raised 40-50 feet in the air in order to see the station's tower to send signal back to.
The satellite is actually slightly harder and more expensive to run because you have to purchase the satellite time and then know how to send signal to it's exact coordinates somewhere in space. And if you juice it too hard or aren't aimed perfectly, you could burn up the satellite which would be an expensive proposition! So no, not yet can I run this thing.
